Seabourn Cruise Line

Seabourn was founded in 1986, initially as Signet Cruise Lines, by executives who wanted to recreate the relaxed elegance of a private yacht for fare-paying guests, with all-suite accommodation and highly personal service. Its first ship entered service in 1988, and the line became a benchmark for ultra-luxury small-ship cruising, a position it has held through successive generations of ships. The five vessels in this directory show the modern form of that idea. Seabourn Quest, at 32,346 GT, belongs to the Odyssey class that enlarged the fleet while keeping guest numbers low; Seabourn Encore and Seabourn Ovation, each 40,350 GT, are its larger successors. The newest direction is expedition cruising: Seabourn Venture and Seabourn Pursuit, at about 23,000 GT, are purpose-built expedition ships with ice-class hulls and an exploratory programme, extending Seabourn's small-ship luxury into polar waters.
