Oasis class

The Oasis class is Royal Caribbean's landmark megaship design and, on its debut with Oasis of the Seas, the largest class of cruise ship in the world. Built between 2009 and 2023 at 225,282 to 236,473 GT — the first two ships by STX Finland at Turku's Perno yard and the later ships by Chantiers de l'Atlantique at Saint-Nazaire — the class is defined by its split superstructure, opened up to create distinct open-air neighbourhoods, including a tree-lined Central Park and a Boardwalk, inside a single hull. Six ships, from Oasis of the Seas to Utopia of the Seas, all sail for Royal Caribbean International, and the arrangement has shaped every very large cruise ship designed since.
