Spirit class

The Spirit class is a versatile mid-size platform built mainly by Kvaerner Masa-Yards at its Hietalahti shipyard in Helsinki, with six ships delivered from that yard and a final, slightly larger ship from Fincantieri. Built between 2000 and 2009 and ranging from 85,619 to 92,720 GT, the class is named for Carnival Spirit and established a layout Carnival used across several brands, with a high share of outside and balcony cabins arranged around a compact, easily navigated hull. Five ships sail for Carnival Cruise Line, while Adora Mediterranea sails for Adora Cruises and Margaritaville at Sea Islander sails for Margaritaville at Sea, showing how one proven design has adapted to quite different onboard identities over more than two decades.
