TUI Cruises

TUI Cruises was founded in Hamburg in April 2008 as a joint venture between the travel group TUI AG and Royal Caribbean, created to serve the German-speaking market with a premium, German-language product. It began sailing in May 2009 with a transferred Celebrity Cruises ship renamed Mein Schiff — 'my ship' — and the plain numbered naming has stayed with the fleet ever since. Unusually, every ship in the list below is a purpose-built newbuild: the two transferred founding ships had already left before Mein Schiff 3, the line's first new ship, arrived in 2014. That ship began a run of near-sisters of about 99,000 GT — Mein Schiff 3 to Mein Schiff 6 — followed by a larger group at about 111,500 GT. The InTUItion class, Mein Schiff Relax and Mein Schiff Flow, at roughly 160,000 GT, is the line's first step into the largest size bracket.
